St. Louis Parkinson's Disease Support Groups
In the United States, there are as many as one million individuals living with Parkinson’s disease.
The disease has gained national attention through the inspirational career comeback of Michael J. Fox and, more recently, tragic loss of Robin Williams. These two also exemplify the difference that having a strong support group can make.
St. Louis’ Parkinson Disease Association Center is one of the largest in the country and offers many support groups that meet at varying locations and times, which we have listed below.

Home care companies such as SHC are often a very beneficial part of a support group, offering expertise and respite to family caregivers.
I asked SHC’s nursing department for their input. They explained that, in addition to the other services SHC provides, there are three main focuses when caring for an individual with Parkinson’s disease.
- Exercise. This maintains strength and promotes independence.
- Consistent medication regimen. It’s very important to get the proper medications on a regular basis.
- Education about fall prevention. Falls are a particular risk to individuals with Parkinson’s. Knowledge is a key to avoiding an incident.

My husband who had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease for 2 years at the age of 63 had all his symptoms reversed with Ayurveda medicine from natural herbs centre. com after undergoing their Parkinson’s natural protocol. God Bless all Parkinson’s Caregivers. Stay Strong, take small moments throughout the day to thank yourself, to love your self, and pray to whatever faith, star, spiritual force you believe in and ask for strength. I can personally vouch for these remedy but you would probably need to decide what works best for you.
